Some History about this machine: Spurred by the Nevada Club, the SUN CHIEF and BUCKAROO, were used in a redesigned and easy-to-service front opening machine that was given the new line name CONTINENTAL.
With only 23 people working in the plant in the spring of l964, they used the existing Nevada Club mechanisms inside new cabinets. It has been reported that 460 were modified in a variety of 3- and 4-reel configurations, with fluorescent lights on the tops and sides, in the style of the EL DORADO. In a cost-cutting effort, the cabinet sides were made of Masonite. It was a late comer to the market and the easily maintained CONTINENTAL mechanical Bell machine remained in short supply.
The El DORADO and the CONTINENTAL were end of the line as the old timer, producers and operators knew them. The Nevada Club used these machines at both the Lake Tahoe and Reno locations.
